Jamila’s life was full of challenges and uncertainty. Her family faced severe financial hardships, relying entirely on her husband’s modest income as a daily wage laborer in a local marble factory. With three rising household expenses, survival was a daily battle. His earnings barely covered their basic needs, leaving no room for savings or future planning.
Everything changed when Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal (RMKM)
introduced Jamila to the Goat Farming Livelihood Program. She received
training and financial support to start her small goat farm. Initially, it was
overwhelming—she had no prior experience—but with determination and
RMKM’s guidance, she embraced the opportunity.
Starting with just a few goats, she learned to manage their feeding, breeding, and healthcare.
Over time, her herd grew, and today, she owns six healthy goats, with one providing a liter of milk daily, earning her ₹60 per liter. This steady income significantly eased her family’s financial burden.
For the first time, they feel a sense of stability. Her husband is no longer the sole provider, and they can even save for the future. Beyond financial relief, Jamila has gained confidence and respect in her community. Her success has inspired other village women to explore goat farming as a livelihood.
Jamila’s story is a testament to how hard work, resilience, and the right support can transform lives. Today, she and her family no longer live in fear of financial instability. Instead, they look forward to a brighter, more secure future for their children.
