PARIDHI’S JOURNEY – FROM SILENCE TO SOUND

In Ajmer, Rajasthan, 4-year-old Paridhi was born into a world of silence. Despite her sparkling eyes and infectious smile, she struggled to hear and speak, her words limited to mere fragments. Her father, Paras Mal, worked tirelessly, earning Rs. 10,000, while her mother, Puja Tailer, balanced caregiving and household duties. Their modest income made accessing medical care difficult, but they were determined to help their daughter.

Their search for solutions led them through hospitals and medical tests, culminating in an operation at Janana Hospital. Yet, challenges persisted. That’s when Kalpana Chauhan, a CBR worker from Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal (RMKM), stepped in, guiding them through medical certifications and social support.

Paridhi was enrolled at Adwait Early Intervention Centre, Panchsheel Ajmer. A special educator, Surendra Guru, suggested cochlear implant surgery to improve her speech. After medical evaluations, Shri Devi ENT Hospital, Bhilwara, scheduled her surgery.

On August 5, 2023, Paridhi’s life changed forever. Her laughter, once trapped in silence, finally found its voice. Through RMKM’s efforts, financial support from the ADIP scheme, and Alia Varjang’s generosity, her cochlear implant became a reality.

Her parents, overwhelmed with joy, expressed deep gratitude to RMKM. Paridhi’s journey from silence to sound is a story of resilience, love, and a community’s unwavering support— turning a little girl’s dreams into reality.
